The National Concert Hall “Tautos namai” in Vilnius must become the new world-famous city where European culture meets its harmony. The proposal is an iconic landmark for the city, an exceptional, outstanding and original design. It will be a public space which invites the visitors and the community to meet in art, music and nature.
The design of the National Concert Hall and its landscape are based upon a sensitive and sympathetic approach to the context and nature of “Tautos namai”. It encourages people to flow within a new cultural space that is linked to the rest of the city, through the part promenade and the pedestrian pathway to Lukiškės Square. It is a place for everyone to experience a new piece of the city.
The hierarchy of the concrete slabs leads to the entrances of the lobby area, which allows free flow and flexible access, that both welcome new visitors and serve as a key cultural destination for the community. The proposal celebrates openness and encourage public engagement. The generous lobby exhibition galleries is a free, open space. With its grand hallways, it creates an atmosphere where you feel belonged to the city and to its surroundings.
